The 
anemometer is mounted on a mast about 1 metre above the highest point of the roof.
The weather station is an Oregon Scientific WM-918, chosen because it was cheap. Since it has been discontinued you can pick them up for a quarter of what a Davis or other "professional" station costs.
The hardware is pretty much as supplied, the manufacturer or
supplier (Skyview) had made
the RFI resistor mod to the interface box.
After installation I painted the temp/humidity sensor
and the outside of the rain collector.
